HDTV Productions Inc. :: Director of Photography

Douglas Munro, C.S.C. is the President and Director of Photography of HDTV Productions Inc.. With over twenty-five years experience as a cinematographer, Doug has lensed a variety of film and video productions including network specials, commercials, dramatic series, documentary and corporate presentations.

In 1994, both Doug and Margot McMaster (V.P. of HDTV Productions) each received an Emmy Award for their work with CBS at the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.

Doug combines the discipline of motion picture cinematography with his dynamic documentary background. In 1998 Doug pioneered the use of HD cinematography as he was one of the first owner/operators in North America to embrace the latest digital technology. Experience and knowledge of this exciting medium is key to his success.

In 2004, Doug received the prestigious Canadian Society of Cinematographers Award for Best Cinematography Docudrama (2004) for his work “On the Edge of Destruction – The Frank Slide Story”.

Proudly, Doug works on both union and non-union projects all across North America.
